The Window
The window, and I was staring in.
The rain pounded on the glass
Telling where I’d been.
And all the light refracted
And all your friends, they acted.
The window, and I was staring in.
The music, the window let it out
The rain poured on the stained-glass pane,
Hid what the music was about.
You raised your glass and took a drink,
The rain filled my mouth to toast, I think.
The wine, and I was staring in.
The dance, I watched as it began
The rain pirouetted down around me
And I saw you take his hand.
The rain a torrent down the window,
And I was
Staring
In.

My only critique is that the last 2 lines seem like they should be one line, I don't know why though. I guess it might make it flow better.
Good work though.

Defy gravity
because there's
no day but today
You mean more of a meaning that is in the description? Well, if you want to get specific, the rain is be the tears of the person standing outside the window (on the other side of the barrier) watching the person she gave up so much for enjoying him/herself inside. She can't decide what to feel becuase she wants the persion to be happy but she wants to be appreciated and have the person be happy with HER.

I've been living in my fantasy
For a few lifetimes too long
And now I wake to see that
In this world I don't belong
